Description
This must-have manual has now been updated with references to acceptance and periodic tests of elevators through the ASME A17.1/CSA B44 2016 edition requirements.
With more than 25 new pages added, this in-depth guide, designed for the service technician, covers elevator maintenance programs and practices as related to electric and hydraulic elevators. In addition, maintenance procedures and coverage of escalators and moving walks are also provided. It should be used for guidance and aid in understanding the requirements and manufacturers' instructions.
This publication is a comprehensive how-to guide that can be used for training classes or home study. In addition to technical material, the manual also presents topics such as: public relations, maintenance safety and control, troubleshooting and general maintenance practices.
It is not intended as a replacement for equipment manufacturers' manuals and service bulletins. It should be used as a guidance and aid in understanding the requirements and manufacturers' instructions. It does not give detailed, step-by-step procedures for replacement, adjustment and settings for the many models and manufacturers of elevators and escalators. However, it does provide information useful in understanding requirements for maintenance.
